Yoga Collective strives to create space for compassion, connection and community with an emphasis on therapeutic yoga and yoga for recovery.
Yoga means UNION and although yoga is a very personal practice, there is tremendous beauty and connection as a result of having a commUNITY. At Yoga Collective we honor our uniqueness as individuals and value how our part contributes to the whole. It is here that our individual fibers are woven together to make a beautiful tapestry; held together by the common thread of yoga. We were not created to function in isolation, but rather as a group. We can accomplish more collectively than independently and through this practice and experience of yoga, we can elevate both the individual and collective consciousness, thus creating a better world.
Yoga Collective was created and inspired by the power of love. The Anahata Chakra or heart chakra is symbolized in the wood carving below and the Yoga Collective heart logo above. It represents love, unity, self-acceptance, compassion, balance, giving, receiving, and forgiveness. The yogic path is one of self realization and has the potential to transform every aspect of your life. Through accessing the wisdom of the body and calming the fluctuations of the mind space is created for an authentic connection with your true essence/your higher self, which is love.
Uniting mind, body & soul.
Alignment based yoga inspired by the work of BKS Iyengar and Father Joe Pereira. Yoga is for every body and class options are available for beginner to advanced students. Props such as blankets, straps, blocks, chairs, and the yoga wall are used to support the body. Classes include a combination of asana, pranayama, and meditation. Yoga's ethical guidelines of the Yamas and Niyamas serve to encourage living yoga both on and off the mat.
I believe in the mission and values of 4th Dimension. We have partnered to provide a holistic approach to recovery by offering yoga to the participants at the outpatient treatment center and sober living house residents.
